Thank you for your kindness and support. These have been difficult times for me and working with you has really helped me to think about what I want and need from a relationship going forward.

Initial consultation

I offer a 50-minute face-to-face initial consultation, providing an opportunity for us to determine if we are best placed to work together. This allows you to get a sense of me and my approach, and for me to learn more about you and the reasons you’re seeking counselling.

Ongoing counselling

Counselling is a process that takes time, emotional investment and commitment. If we decide to continue after the initial consultation, sessions are usually held weekly and at the same time. Weekly working is particularly important at the beginning of counselling, as it brings consistency and momentum to the therapeutic process.

We’ll regularly review our work together in sessions to ensure that it is supporting your needs. The number of sessions varies for each person, but 6–8 sessions can provide a helpful minimum in short-term work.

Who I work with

I have a specialist interest in relationships and family dynamics and have worked with individuals on a broad range of issues including childhood experiences, communication, bereavement, fertility, trust, intimacy, sexuality, parenting, blended families, extended families and infidelity along with separation and divorce.

I am also experienced in working with a range of other issues such as anxiety, stress, worry, depression, low mood, self-esteem and confidence.

I work with people from a broad and diverse range of backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community. I also have experience supporting clients who have, or identify with traits associated with, Autism and ADHD / ADD.

Life-changing and very powerful.

Therapeutic approach

As an integrative counsellor, I bring together a range of therapeutic approaches, tools and techniques to meet you where you are. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client lies at the heart of meaningful change.

I place great importance on creating a warm, trusting, and non-judgmental space in which we can work collaboratively together on the issues that are important to you. I bring warmth, gentle challenge, reflection, and, at times, humour to our work together – creating space for openness, curiosity, and a deeper understanding.

My therapeutic approach is neurodiversity-affirming. This means that I view all neurological styles as expressions of human diversity, working with you in a way that respects your strengths, needs, and lived experience.

Early experiences can shape the way we perceive ourselves and relate to others, and the patterns we develop in childhood can influence how we respond to life in the present. In our work together, I aim to meet you as the whole person you are — not only as you are today, but with an understanding of the experiences that have shaped you. Exploring these parts of your story can offer insight, understanding and the potential for change.

I am also curious about the connection between mind and body — how emotions can be felt physically as sensations, tensions or movements. At times, I may invite you to notice what’s happening in your body or to explore feelings creatively. These gentle reflections can help to bring deeper awareness and understanding.
